Job Summary

The main mandate of this role is to support senior management in conducting annual audits to check the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying ineffective practices, and recommending measures for improvements in policies and procedures for assigned functions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Develop an annual risk-based internal audit plan to cover technical operations for Audit Committee's review and approval.

2. Participate in audit planning meetings to understand relevant audit risks and clearly define roles & responsibilities.

3. Prepare pre-audit planning presentations for senior management to discuss potential audit risks and scope, timelines, and logistics.

4. Identify risks and controls for processes in each audit engagement and prepare Audit Programs for documentation of risks, control designs, and testing during fieldwork.

5. Ensure that annual risk assessments are in place and prepare annual audit plans for departmental audits.

6. Perform audit fieldwork according to the annual audit plan, executing audit procedures and testing controls in accordance with defined audit methodology and agreed timelines.

7. Document controls and test operating effectiveness against each risk in processes, ensuring audit documentation meets quality standards.

8. Execute comprehensive risk-based operational audits to maximize company performance and control while minimizing risk.

9. Ensure departments operate consistently, comply with laws and regulations, and maintain international standards such as ISO.

10. Conduct physical surveys and operations work at fields and departments, including Cathodic Protection, ROW, and DI shop, Meter Manufacturing Plant, and pipeline network rehabilitation.

11. Support senior management in evaluating operational policies and procedures across the organization, establishing controls to mitigate potential loss.

12. Monitor and control operational audits to ensure smooth conduct with minimal disruptions to routine or day-to-day operations.

13. Develop a detailed understanding of audited activities, including technical risks, project risks, operations risks, and necessary controls to achieve audit quality standards.

14. Assess and report compliance with operational regulations and controls through operational audits.

15. Ensure accurate reflection of operational audit findings in documentation and complete the audit.

16. Prepare formal written reports expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of systems and activity efficiency.

17. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) during Operational Audit and recommend improvement plans.

18. Work with auditee department management to set implementation timelines for audit recommendations and follow up on corrective actions.

19. Identify risks in internal audit observations and communicate them to concerned levels of management for risk management.

20. Comply with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework while performing job responsibilities in accordance with assigned roles.

21. Comply with Business Principles and Ethics Policy/Code of Conduct.

22. Undertake any other assignment as instructed by senior management.
