As a senior IT professional, you oversee the development and installation of computer systems for organizations. Your primary responsibility is ensuring projects are completed on time and meet expectations.

You can work for any organization relying heavily on IT systems. Projects vary in size and complexity, ranging from implementing new patient record systems in hospitals to upgrading computer networks in call centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine client requirements for their IT systems
  • Plan and assess project stages with consideration for business implications
  • Cordinate the work of the project team, including developers
  • Monitor progress and ensure costs, timescales, and quality standards are met
  • Adjust plans in response to unforeseen circumstances
  • Evaluate and ensure a smooth transition from the old IT system to the new one
  • Keep senior managers and clients informed of progress
  • Finalize and evaluate completed tasks
