Early Childhood Assistant Role

The Early Childhood Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the implementation of a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of children aged 5 years.

Working under the guidance of experienced Early Childhood Educators, this role assists in daily classroom activities, meal routines, hygiene, and developmental play.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with educators to plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities and play-based curriculum.

  • Support children's personal needs, including feeding, diapering, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

  • Maintain a safe and engaging indoor and outdoor environment for children to explore and learn.

  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting classroom space that promotes learning and creativity.

  • Develop positive relationships with children, families, and team members through effective communication and empathy.

  • Observe and document children's behavior and development, providing valuable insights to support their growth.

  • Foster open communication with parents regarding daily routines and progress, keeping them informed and engaged.

  • Offer emotional support and guidance to children, helping them build resilience and confidence.

  • Adhere to all relevant center policies, licensing regulations, and health and safety protocols, prioritizing children's welfare and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an Early Childhood Assistant certificate or equivalent training is highly regarded.

  • Hold current First Aid and CPR certification (or be willing to obtain).

  • Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or preschool setting is an asset, demonstrating your passion and commitment to early childhood education.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of early childhood development principles, understanding the unique needs and stages of child growth.

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, building trust and rapport with children, families, and colleagues.

  • Display patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children, creating a nurturing and inclusive environment.
