Financial Operations Director

About the Role:

The Financial Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations within the company, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with regulations.

This role involves monitoring financial transactions, including payroll, invoicing, and other key activities. You will also be responsible for supervising employees in the financial department, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages growth and development.

A critical aspect of this position is contract management, where you will procure external services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary.

You will track the company's financial status and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to minimize financial risk. Additionally, you will research and analyze financial reports and market trends to provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives.

Your responsibilities will also include preparing monthly and annual reports, presenting them to stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings. To stay ahead, you will need to keep up-to-date with technological advances and accounting software used for financial purposes.

Ultimately, your goal will be to establish and maintain financial policies and procedures that align with the company's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Transaction Monitoring: Oversee the processing of financial transactions, including payroll, invoicing, and other key activities.
  2. Employee Supervision: Foster a collaborative work environment by supervising employees in the financial department, promoting growth and development.
  3. Contract Management: Procure external services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary.
  4. Financial Performance Tracking: Monitor the company's financial status and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to minimize financial risk.
  5. Financial Analysis: Research and analyze financial reports and market trends to provide insightful information and expectations to senior executives.
  6. Reporting and Presentations: Prepare and present monthly and annual reports to stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings.
  7. Technology and Software: Stay current with technological advances and accounting software used for financial purposes.
  8. Policies and Procedures: Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures that align with the company's goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • Advanced Degree: An advanced degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field.
  • Finance Experience: Several years of experience in a finance role, preferably with leadership skills and employee management.
  • Mathematical Skills: Superior mathematical skills, including data analysis and problem-solving.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), public speaking skills, and solid interpersonal skills.
  • Data Privacy: Understanding of data privacy standards and best practices.
  • Business Principles: A deep understanding of business principles and practices, including organizational skills, planning skills, research skills, analytical skills, critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer software and technology, including multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail.
