METRO, a leading wholesale business in Pakistan, embarked on an ambitious journey by opening its first cash and carry wholesale center in 2007. Within a short span of 18 months, the company expanded to five wholesale centers.

In 2012, METRO merged with Makro-Habib, creating a long-term partnership that brought mutual benefits to both companies. This strategic move allowed the combined entity to leverage resources, gain financial strength, and lead growth in a challenging environment.

Today, the company operates 10 wholesale centers across Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Islamabad, and Faisalabad.

METRO Pakistan (Pvt) Limited is part of METRO GROUP's sales division, which operates over 750 stores in 25 countries worldwide. The company employs over 107,000 employees and generates approximately 37 billion Euro in sales annually.

Job Description:

  1. Build strong relationships with suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial partnerships.
  2. Develop new supplier connections and nurture existing ones.
  3. Responsible for Own Brand sales, income, assortment, stock days, planogram, and category presentation.
  4. Energize maximum growth from all suppliers and drive profit through targeted channel sales.
  5. Grow and develop METRO Own brands to deliver key strategic objectives.
  6. Review brand/supplier performance and profitability.
  7. Negotiate business plans with partners to attract high-value customers and expand customer base.
  8. Identify local market gaps in assortment.
  9. Monitor daily sales and margins, taking corrective actions to safeguard margin erosion.
  10. Assist the category in purchase and sale price determination and prepare price comparisons.
  11. Visit, evaluate, and select suitable suppliers, assisting the Senior Buyer in terms and conditions decision-making.
  12. Implement and maintain the planogram at each store according to the ARP Model.
  13. Determine and continuously maintain the ideal assortment for the given area, considering turnover, profit, and stock levels.
  14. Record changes in articles and prepare action plans.
  15. Manage the article/supplier database through the METRO Management System (MMS).
Qualifications

University degree (Master's or Bachelor's) from a recognized institution.

Additional Information

Minimum 2-4 years of relevant experience in category management.

Experience in modern wholesale/retail is preferred.
