This position is grant-funded and contractual.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the coordination of research projects, ensuring timely preparation and update of project documents, effective communication with collaborators and investigators, seamless implementation at field sites, and thorough compilation of reports. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Implementation and supervision of Research projects, developing instruments for data collection and monitoring;

  • developing SOPs for project and administrative processes and procedures to facilitate standardized practices at all field sites, hiring and training physicians as required;

  • liaising with community leaders and project staff to ensure smooth running of project activities within settings;

  • drafting and submitting proposals to granting agencies as per requirements and agreed timelines;

  • facilitating Co/PI in finalizing proposal submissions;

  • drafting and publishing manuscripts in reputable international journals;

  • contributing actively to peer-reviewed journal publications, conference presentations, and academic discussions to disseminate research outcomes;

  • hiring and training research staff as needed;

  • collaborating closely with administrative staff to maintain discipline, sufficient supplies, and optimal staff at field sites on a daily basis;

  • troubleshooting and reporting issues to higher management for efficient performance at field sites;

  • preparing and compiling study progress reports;

  • submitting manuscripts for publication;

  • producing monthly project reports in collaboration with the Data Manager;

  • presenting study results as required;

  • providing mentorship and training to research staff for knowledge exchange;

  • engaging in professional development opportunities, including standalone courses, workshops, seminars, and training sessions, to build capacity.

  • Incumbent will be required to travel to different field sites within and outside Karachi; might require staying at remote locations as per project activity requirements; international travels may also be involved as necessary.

Requirements:

Applicants should possess:

  • MPH/M.Sc. in Epidemiology and Biostatistics, M.Sc. in Health Policy and Management, or Master's in Sociology or a relevant field;
  • an MBBS degree would be preferable;
  • 3-5 years' relevant experience, including research and health systems expertise;
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative research;
  • familiarity with government health systems;
  • capability to manage a field team, work independently, and take initiative;
  • computer skills: MS Word, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentation;
  • excellent writing and speaking skills in English.
