The Department of Biological Sciences aims to achieve excellence through innovative and relevant research programmes in basic and applied sciences.

**Responsibilities:

  • Determine theoretical aspects and select methods of approach for research projects.
  • Field sampling of families with genetic disorders, conduct experiments, devise instrumentation, and record test results.
  • Tabulate and correlate data compiled in research and interpret the results.
  • Prepare write-ups of results, manuscripts of papers, presentations, and research proposals.
  • Provide assistance to students and lab staff in setting up laboratory sessions.

**Requirements:

  • A minimum of MPhil or equivalent degree in human genetics, Biotechnology, or Molecular Biology from a recognized university.
  • Experience in sampling genetic diseases families, pedigree contraction, clinical history taking, molecular biology techniques, and multitasking several projects.
  • Working knowledge and skills in laboratory techniques.
  • Ability to multitask and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
