We're seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of our cloud-native health technology products.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for guiding the design and development of our applications, with a focus on GCP (Google Cloud Platform). Your expertise in building and maintaining FHIR-based healthcare APIs and data flows will be crucial in driving our business forward.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the architecture and development of cloud-native applications, leveraging your knowledge of GCP services and microservices patterns.
• Architect and manage services using Cloud Run, Firebase, API Gateways, and SQL Server, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Drive the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices, enabling our teams to deliver high-quality software quickly and efficiently.
• Establish and enforce coding, security, and configuration standards across teams, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on architecture, code quality, and scalable solutions, helping them grow and develop their skills.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and lead incident response as needed, demonstrating your ability to think critically and solve problems under pressure.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's a plus), with a strong foundation in software engineering principles and practices.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in an architecture or technical leadership role, with a proven track record of success.
• Deep hands-on knowledge of Cloud Run, Firebase, API Gateway, and microservices patterns, with experience in building and deploying cloud-native applications.
• Proficient in SQL Server and experience with relational and NoSQL databases, with a strong understanding of data modeling and schema design.
• Familiarity with data manipulation libraries such as Pandas (Python), with experience in data analysis and visualization.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and infrastructure automation, with a strong understanding of agile methodologies and project management principles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional, distributed team, with experience in stakeholder management and collaboration.
• Ability to work in EST time zone, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in health tech space and some familiarity with compliance/regulations, with knowledge of relevant industry standards and guidelines.
• Experience with FHIR, HL7, and building/consuming healthcare APIs, with a strong understanding of healthcare data exchange and interoperability.
• Relevant certifications in GCP and cloud platforms, with a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations (HIPAA, SOC-2, etc.), with a strong understanding of patient data protection and confidentiality.
• Experience with PaaS technologies such as containers, container orchestration and scheduling, service registration / discovery and monitoring (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), with a strong understanding of cloud native architecture and deployment.
• Experience with workflow data pipeline management services such as Airflow and/or Luigi, with a strong understanding of data processing and analytics.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS, with a strong understanding of cloud computing and migration strategies.
