As a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Virtual Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the smooth operation of medical services and enhancing patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Communication: Handle inquiries via phone, email or chat, providing information, scheduling appointments and addressing concerns.
  • Appointment Scheduling: Manage and coordinate patient appointments to ensure optimal use of time and resources for healthcare providers.
  • Medical Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in electronic health systems, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance information, handle pre-authorizations and process claims.
  • Data Entry: Input and update patient information, medical histories and treatment plans in electronic medical records system.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with preparation of medical reports, correspondence and other documents as needed.
  • Customer Service: Provide high-quality service to patients, addressing needs promptly and professionally.
  • Telehealth Support: Assist with setup and management of telehealth appointments, ensuring both patients and providers are prepared and connected.
  • Billing Assistance: Support billing department by preparing and submitting medical billing information and following up on outstanding claims.
  • Compliance: Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with medical standards, regulations and best practices.

To succeed in this role, you should have previous experience as a medical assistant or in a healthcare administrative role. Certification in Medical Assisting or a related field is also required. You must be familiar with medical terminology and healthcare practices.
