IT Manager - Career Opportunities

Manage the IT function on a day-to-day operational basis to drive business outcomes and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Ensure maximum availability of computer systems throughout the organization, minimizing downtime and ensuring seamless operations.
  2. Commissioning and Decommissioning of EITV Devices in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  3. Provide IT infrastructure services, including desktop applications, local and/or wide area networks, IT security, and telecommunications, to support business objectives.
  4. Develop and implement new systems, leveraging technology to improve processes and enhance productivity.
  5. Collaborate with senior management to propose, agree, and deliver IT services that meet defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  6. Lead the IT department, overseeing staff appraisals, disciplining, pay reviews, and career development to foster a high-performing team.
  7. Responsible for IT hardware, software, and maintenance procurement, ensuring alignment with organizational needs and budget.
  8. Develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan to mitigate potential risks and ensure business continuity.
  9. Develop and control the IT security policy, safeguarding sensitive information and protecting against cyber threats.
  10. Maintain and develop the company website, showcasing organizational achievements and fostering online engagement.
  11. Provide regular written reports to senior management on all aspects of the IT Department, facilitating informed decision-making.
Job Specification

Skills / Attributes Required:

  1. Proven experience managing an IT department, driving strategic initiatives and delivering results.
  2. Experience in IT infrastructure planning and development, with expertise in designing and implementing efficient systems.
  3. Strong team leading skills, with the ability to motivate and empower team members to achieve excellence.
  4. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, maintaining composure under duress.
  5. Commissioning and de-commissioning of EITV Devices, adhering to established protocols and best practices.
  6. Experience working with shipping/logistic companies, with a preference for those operating in the Afghan transit sector.
