Job Title: Senior Audit Manager

Job Description:

The Senior Audit Manager will play a key role in conducting audits to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls, identify areas for improvement, and recommend measures to enhance policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement an annual risk-based internal audit plan to cover technical operations for review and approval by senior management.
  2. Participate in audit planning meetings to understand relevant audit risks and define roles and responsibilities.
  3. Prepare pre-audit planning presentations for senior management to discuss potential audit risks, scope, timelines, and logistics.
  4. Support the team lead in identifying risks and controls for processes in each audit engagement and prepare audit programs for documentation of risks, control designs, and testing during fieldwork.
  5. Ensure the annual risk assessment is in place and prepare an annual audit plan for departments.
  6. Perform audit fieldwork in accordance with the annual audit plan, executing audit procedures and testing controls as per agreed timelines.
  7. Document controls and test operating effectiveness against each risk in processes, ensuring audit documentation meets quality standards.
  8. Execute comprehensive risk-based operational audits to maximize performance and control while minimizing risk.
  9. Evaluate operational policies and procedures across the organization in terms of risk to the organization, establishing controls to mitigate any potential loss.
  10. Monitor and control operational audits to ensure smooth conduct with minimal disruptions to routine or day-to-day operations.
  11. Develop a detailed understanding of activities under audit, including technical risks, project risks, operations risks, and necessary controls to achieve audit quality standards.
  12. Assess and report compliance with operational regulations and controls through operational audits.
  13. Ensure operational audit findings are accurately reflected and supported by adequate documentation to complete and conclude the audit.
  14. Prepare formal written reports expressing opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of systems and efficiency of activity, submitting drafts for review and final approval.
  15. Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) during Operational Audit and recommend plans and initiatives for improvement.
  16. Work with auditee department's management to set timelines for implementation of audit recommendations and maintain periodic follow-up.
  17. Identify risks in internal audit observations and communicate to concerned levels of management for risk management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in audit management, preferably in IT audit.
  • Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Proficiency in audit software and tools, such as spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software.
