As a Deputy Chief Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the application of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques on our pipelines. This position involves supervising a team to ensure the integrity and reliability of our critical infrastructure within the natural gas transmission system.

  • Organize NDT services through third-party service providers to obtain impartial assessments of pipeline condition.
  • Ensure that NDT is applied in accordance with international standards, well-designed procedures, trained and certified inspectors.
  • Review reports and assessment data from service providers.
  • Oversee the formulation, execution, and monitoring of Ground Testing Agreements (GTAs).
  • Supervise activities related to NDT, including checking method statements and standard operating procedures.
  • Seek approval for documents from the Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSE & QA) department.
  • Monitor plans to execute third-party inspection and construction activities.
  • Implement quality assurance measures for NDT processes.
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards in all NDT deliverables.
Requirements

For this role, we are looking for an Engineering graduate from a recognized university with at least 6 years of experience. Having a Master's degree is preferred. PEC registration is mandatory.

This individual should possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Other Responsibilities

Some additional responsibilities for this role include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of critical infrastructure using NDT techniques.
  • Providing insights into the structural integrity and reliability of components within the natural gas transmission system.
  • Monitoring or witnessing pipeline project activities, including excavation, pigging, commissioning, and handing over to the Transmission department.
  • Preparing pre-qualification tenders for inspection, NDT testing, and other jobs.
  • Formulating technical aspects of Transportation Agreements and finalizing agreements in coordination with other departments.
