Database Administrator

Contour Software is looking for a talented Database Administrator to improve the efficiency and performance of our data infrastructure, largely implemented in MySQL.

  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data.
  • Evaluate client operations, applications, and programming to determine database structural needs.
  • Develop and oversee maintenance plans ensuring health and performance of data infrastructure.
  • Assess database implementation procedures for compliance with internal and external regulations.
Responsibilities
  1. Design and implement efficient database architecture to meet business requirements.
  2. Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues to ensure optimal operation.
  3. Develop and maintain high-quality database designs, models, and documentation.
  4. Collaborate with development teams to integrate database solutions into software applications.
  5. Provide training and support to staff on database usage and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with database systems.
  • 5+ years of experience with MySQL.
  • Expert knowledge of database structures including schema design.
  • Strong experience analyzing and resolving MySQL performance issues.
Desired Skills
  • Experience with cloud data technologies (e.g., Amazon RDS, Azure, DynamoDB).
  • Experience with data analysis platforms and tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
