Procurement Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the purchase of inventory items as per established policies and standards to ensure timely availability of materials for the manufacturing process.

  1. Managing quotations, price negotiations, and reviewing purchase orders and bank documents for the procurement of imported/local materials.
  2. Coordinating the clearance of consignments by working closely with local regulatory bodies and clearing agents.
  3. Streamlining shipment receiving and handing over.
  4. Obtaining necessary import permissions from government authorities.
  5. Facilitating audits of vendors.
  6. Developing alternate sources of materials.
  7. Implementing contingency plans in case of delays or losses in the production process.
  8. Coordinating with Quality Control for approval of receiving reports.
  9. Verifying bills of suppliers/agents to finance.
  10. Maintaining accurate documentation of approvals and rejections.
  11. Preparing cost analyses.
  12. Reviewing purchasing policies and guidelines to provide non-inventory items for smooth day-to-day operations.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Requirements

- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry

- Strong communication and negotiation skills

- Sound knowledge of customs laws and current applicable duties and taxes

- Good understanding of Ministry of Health requirements

- Familiarity with banking procedures involved in the import of materials/drugs

- Good computer skills and time management abilities

- Knowledge of product and service purchasing policies and practices

- Ability to work collaboratively and resolve problems effectively

- Strong skills in using personal computers and related software applications

- Experience with recordkeeping systems, procedures, and reports
