As a senior system engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our cloud and hosting solutions.

The ideal candidate will have over 11 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration, particularly in web hosting or cloud environments. Additionally, they should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior position or Level 3 Engineer role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Elevated Escalation & Troubleshooting: The final escalation point for complex server, hosting, and network issues. Diagnose and resolve system failures, network outages, and performance issues.
  • Linux Expertise: Optimize, secure, and manage Linux-based environments (CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL). Administer web servers (Apache, Nginx, LiteSpeed), databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL), and caching layers (Redis, Memcached).
  • Automation & DevOps: Develop automation scripts (Bash, Python, Perl) for server provisioning and configuration management using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
  • Cloud & Virtualization: Deploy KVM, OpenStack, VMware, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and support cloud-based hosting solutions (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices including firewall rules, SELinux/AppArmor, IDS/IPS. Perform vulnerability assessments and patch management.
  • Monitoring & Incident Response: Set up monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios. Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation for urgent system issues.
  • Collaboration & Mentoring: Work closely with teams to ensure smooth operations. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Requirements:
  • Over 11 years of hands-on Linux system administration experience in web hosting or cloud environments.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a Senior position or Level 3 Engineer role.
  • MUST be a KVM expert with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of web hosting technologies (cPanel, Plesk, WHM, LAMP/LEMP stacks).
  • Expert scripting skills in Perl, Bash, and Python.
  • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Familiarity with RAID, SAN, NAS, distributed storage systems, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Firewalls, Load Balancing.
  • Experience working in production environments with on-call duties.
  • Able to build and configure servers from the ground up.
  • Certifications such as RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Kubernetes (CKA) are beneficial.
  • Good English Communication Skills required.
