Procurement Officer

Job Summary:

The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and fostering a safety culture.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to SOPs, company policies, and procedures. Facilitate team compliance, promote a safety culture, and report safety observations.
  • Areas of Focus: Successfully manage competitive bidding, award PO/Contracts under collaboration with stakeholders. Guide RFQ process to support teams for less than one million cases. Monitor transaction transparency and verification of rates in relevant areas.
  • Broadening Sources: Explore new sources, develop preferred vendor lists for critical items, identify alternate sources, work on SRM for resolving issues/reconciliation, maintain smooth business, disseminate/promote company policies, and develop liaison with internal/external stakeholders through correspondence and telephone.
  • Developing Team: As a leader, inculcate delivery-based culture among colleagues, participate in internal/external training programs, encourage team improvement in procurement acumen/negotiation strategies against challenges. Keep vigilance on delivery steps, approvals, and finally payments to vendors.
  • KPI-Based Performance: Performance will be required based on clear set KPIs as per area allocation on a half-yearly basis. Promote contractual/project business would be valued for delivery. Prepare monthly progress reports of PRs, POs, SAP Ariba, saving initiatives, other KPIs, self-sufficiency, self-starter initiative, knowledge, and procurement acumen to create value for the company.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master's in Commerce/Accounts/Finance/Business.
  • 2-3 years practical experience of procurement at manufacturing bases/plants/companies preferable with MNC.
  • Age: Maximum 35 years.
  • Computer (SAP, MS-Office) skills. Strong soft skills will be considered as an advantage.
  • English fluency, both written and spoken.

  • Similar industry knowledge (items/services), awareness of sources, best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Leadership qualities, self-driven, supportive, and goals-oriented.
  • High level of integrity and negotiation skills with efficient, stable, and humble attitude.
  • Office management capability and good supervisory skills with good procurement acumen.
