Senior Pharmacy Department Director

As a pharmacy manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our pharmacy department and multiple locations. This role involves ensuring customers receive accurate medication recommendations from staff members, maintaining compliance with state regulations and industry standards, and communicating effectively with customers regarding queries and concerns.
The pharmacy manager is responsible for supervising staff to provide exceptional customer service and experience. This includes assisting in onboarding new hires and training programs, as well as training staff on prioritizing customer orders and efficient delivery methods.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining approved lists of medications and controlled substances, verifying expiry dates as needed, and monitoring product displays, shelves, and overall pharmacy appearance. The pharmacy manager must also address customer requests and complaints in a timely manner and prepare schedules for subordinates, including time off and payroll submissions.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Doctoral Degree: Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) degree from a recognized university is required.
- Preferred Qualification: Bachelor's degree in business administration or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of managerial experience at a chain of pharmacies is required.
- Essential Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
- Strong time-management, staff management, and organizational skills are required.
- Self-motivated and driven individuals who can increase efficiency and performance are preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical uses and side effects of prescription drugs and controlled substances is necessary.
- Advanced knowledge of protocols regulating safe storage of prescription drugs and controlled substances is required.
- Exceptional communication skills for advising customers and managing employees are essential.
- Ability to proactively address irregularities with scripts processed at the pharmacy is required.
- Competency in IT skills and pharmacy management software systems is necessary.
