Senior Software Development Manager

This is a leadership role responsible for managing and coordinating resources and processes to deliver software releases of the company's products.

• Project Planning and Execution: Work together with team members to plan and execute projects in PHP and open source applications. Ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively. Establish realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that projects remain on target to meet deadlines.
• Project Tracking and Reporting: Track and report the status of projects on various teams. Act as a gateway through which work should be assigned to appropriate teams. Ensure that project scope is adequately defined.
• Client Deployment and Support: Demonstrate leadership abilities to commercial clients with the deployment of software enhancements and fixes that are coordinated based on release schedules.
• Technical Strategy: Develop a software plan that meets the future needs of commercial clients on technical challenges of industry demands.
• Client Meetings and Technical Lead: Serve as the technical lead in all client meetings that have implemented the company's products.
• Software Evolution: Evolve the existing software system applications and architecture in various areas as needed.
• Team Management: Help developers resolve problems both technical as well as human resources issues. Track and approve vacation and personal days for employees within their teams. Monitor individual employees' performance and relay this to upper management.
• Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development.

• Coding Skills: Applicant must know coding in VB, .NET, ASP, PHP, etc.
• Databases and DBMSs: Must know about databases and DBMSs like MYSQL, MSSQL Server 2002 AND SERIES, MS Access etc.
• Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Management Experience: Minimum of 2 years of management/leadership experience in a software development organization required.
• Release Cycle Experience: Must have at least 1 year's experience working through the design, development, release cycle delivering software to market.
• Enterprise Application Development: Large/enterprise application development experience preferred.
• Software Development Cycle: Strong understanding of the software development cycle.
• Leadership and Project Management Skills: Strong leadership, project management skills, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Computer Programming: Experience in computer programming using Visual Basic or other open source web application frameworks.
• Project Management: Project management experience desired.
• Idea Generation and Prioritization: Be able to excel in idea generation, evaluation, and prioritization, customer and partner engagement, cross-functional technical program management and building/developing great engineering teams.
• Crystal Reporting: Experience with Crystal Reporting.
• Recovery Automation Tools: Experience in the development of software and hardware recovery automation tools a strong plus.
• Software Systems Delivery: A record of successful delivery of software systems as an individual, team leader and/or development manager.
• Technical Knowledge: A willingness to dive into software environments and technical issues as part of maintaining the skills necessary to manage and advocate products and projects.
• Entrepreneurial Spirit: An entrepreneurial spirit with strong product and program management skills.
• Communication Skills: Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to get things done. Excellent written and oral communication.
