Food Service Director Job Description

The role of Food Service Director is pivotal in the operational success of our organization. The chosen candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food service operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement effective menu strategies to cater to diverse customer preferences and ensure menu offerings are aligned with market trends.
  2. Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring seamless execution of meal preparation, presentation, and service standards.
  3. Lead a high-performing team by fostering a positive work environment, promoting open communication, and providing opportunities for growth and development.
  4. Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales data, and staff performance to inform strategic business decisions.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute marketing campaigns, promotions, and special events that drive revenue growth and enhance brand visibility.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or related field.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in senior-level roles within the food service industry, preferably in executive chef or restaurant management capacities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team towards achieving common goals.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering results-oriented solutions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Culinary arts certification or advanced degree in a related field.
  • Experience with food safety and sanitation protocols, as well as relevant certifications (e.g., ServSafe).
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale systems, inventory management software, and other relevant technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
