Teaching Position in Optometry/Orthoptics

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced educator to join our faculty as a Lecturer in Optometry/Orthoptics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet performance targets assigned by the Department Head.
  • Develop and maintain a high-quality teaching environment for students.
  • Teach assigned courses in accordance with faculty workload policy.
  • Continuously improve teaching and learning skills, contributing to course planning.
  • Employ innovative teaching strategies, facilitating experiential learning during lessons.
  • Challenge student thinking, foster debate, and develop critical discourse and rational thinking skills.
  • Supervise student projects, field trips, and placements when necessary.
  • Assess work and examinations, providing feedback to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student academic performance.
  • Support student mentoring through the Riphah Mentoring Program.
  • Update data in Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and other required software.
  • Integrate Islamic and ethical values into teaching, participating in departmental committees.
  • Align teaching content and methods with RIU mission, addressing subordinate and student needs.
  • Monitor student attendance in classes, labs, and practicals.
  • Conduct research and serve as principal investigator and project leader.
  • Act as a line manager, supervising others in research teams and projects or as PhD supervisor when required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Highly qualified and experienced educator in Optometry/Orthoptics.
  • Strong teaching and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain a high-quality teaching environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in conducting research and publishing findings.
