Business Development Professional

We are seeking a talented Business Development Executive to join our team at DHL Global Forwarding.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity involves developing and executing business development strategies to improve DHL's attainment of business goals. You will be responsible for providing highly customized logistics and distribution services to specifically identified customers, ensuring their shipping requirements are met with the highest level of satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers through continuous customer satisfaction.
  • Timely redressal of customer complaints and response to enquiries.
  • Management and retention of a defined customer portfolio.
  • Develop and execute sales plans/strategies/activities to achieve target budgets.
  • Negotiate contractual terms of service provision aligned to corporate sales policy and procedures.
  • Deliver high-quality presentations of standardized products and services to potential customers.
  • Plan, prepare, and realize sales calls for better customer retention and new business acquisition.
  • Secure/collect necessary information to assess credit worthiness of potential customers.
  • Conduct surveys and market intelligence gathering to assess and target potential business prospects, and review competitor behavior.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4-6 years of working experience in field sales at freight forwarding.
  • Broad understanding of trade lane specifics in the forwarding industry and deep knowledge of Ocean freight and logistics business models.
  • Master's degree preferred in a relevant field.
  • Capability to deliver presentations and highly effective in conducting sales negotiations.
  • Proven sales record.
  • Excellent communication, management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Command over Microsoft Office and other related software.
