Health and Environmental Manager

The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing health and environmental education programs in partner schools.

  • We are looking for a highly skilled professional to oversee the implementation of health and environment strategy for ITA's programs and projects.
  • The selected candidate will review and upgrade the strategy as needed, ensuring close links to climate change and school health programs.
  • Perform a comprehensive health and environmental needs assessment for new partner schools.
  • The successful candidate will ensure access to relevant materials to remain updated on the latest trends in climate change, education for sustainable development, and health action schools.
  • Hold meetings with mothers and the community for health awareness and health education.
  • Monitor the school environment and propose strategies for active citizenship.
  • Set up systems for the maintenance of health records of the school children.
  • Train teachers on health and environment issues and integrate them into school activities.
  • Provide site-based support to the teachers in different projects.
  • Maintain and update health files.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor health tools in partner schools.
  • Assist the cluster coordinator/education promoter in their activities.
  • Facilitate Whole School Improvement Program and its key activities with other team members.
  • Develop health and environmental curriculum and relevant activities.
  • Participate in all enrichment activities including health clubs, summer camps, and festivals.
  • Support non-formal and literacy programs.
  • Document activities under the Health and Environmental Education Program and contributions to the newsletter.
  • Update and maintain the teachers' resource corner.
  • Liaise with other organizations in government and non-government sectors.
  • Participate in capacity-building activities for professional development.
Job Specification
