Job Title: HVAC Service Technician

Job Description:

The role of the HVAC Service Technician is to perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial and hospitality settings.

Duties include conducting scheduled preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, diagnosing and repairing issues with compressors, refrigerant leaks, motor or belt malfunctions, and electrical faults. Additionally, technicians replace worn or defective parts such as filters, belts, motors, sensors, and control components.

They inspect and test HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with performance standards. This includes adjusting thermostats, control systems, and dampers for optimal performance.

Technicians are responsible for detecting refrigerant leaks using specialized tools and ensuring system integrity. They must also report any major defects or safety concerns to their supervisor or engineering manager.

Furthermore, they must follow all safety protocols and use appropriate PPE during HVAC maintenance work. In addition, technicians may coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and BMS operators for integrated building system troubleshooting.

Required Tools: Multimeters, gauges, vacuum pumps, leak detectors, manifold sets. Required Skills: Diploma / Certificate in HVAC Technology, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering. 4–5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC maintenance. Knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, ducting, and controls. Familiarity with HVAC tools, gauges, recovery units, and refrigerant handling procedures.
