Job Title: Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our database administration team. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Microsoft SQL Server and MongoDB environments to ensure high performance, security, and availability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server databases
  • Optimization and troubleshooting of complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, indexing, and performance bottlenecks
  • Design and implementation of robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
  • Management of SQL Server Agent jobs, scheduled tasks, and automated scripts for routine operations
  • Monitoring of database health, capacity, and performance using industry-standard tools
  • Management of database security, user permissions, and compliance with data governance policies
  • Administration of MongoDB databases, including high availability configurations (replica sets, sharding)
  • Collaboration with software development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support database needs across environments
  • Input on database architecture decisions and best practices for scalability and performance
  • Support for data integration and migration efforts across systems using SQL and MongoDB tools
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in database administration with a strong focus on SQL Server
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with MongoDB (community or enterprise edition)
  • Expert-level knowledge of T-SQL, query tuning, and performance optimization techniques
  • Strong understanding of MongoDB architecture, backup strategies, and monitoring tools (e.g., Ops Manager, MMS, or open-source alternatives)
  • Deep familiarity with database security, access controls, and compliance standards
  • Experience managing databases in high-availability and mission-critical production environments
  • Solid problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex database concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
