Job Overview:

Ibex is looking for a Database Administrator who will be responsible for daily database maintenance, SQL Server/MySQL/Mongo/Redis development work for reporting, optimization of table structures, and database performance.

Job Description:

  • Focus on Database Administration and SQL development activities for both MySQL and SQL Server databases. Knowledge of MongoDB or NoSQL is considered a helpful additional skill.
  • Support and maintain the existing database infrastructure.
  • Provide standby, on-call support for MySQL/SQL Server databases.
  • Ability to communicate convincingly and explain technical points effectively.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills; able to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to write clear and concise documentation.
  • Identify and respond effectively to the diverse needs of the development department's users.
  • Work reliably and responsibly with internal and external colleagues to achieve organizational goals as part of a team.
  • Work independently to reliably achieve development and organizational goals.

Job Specification:

  • Must have a 3-year BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Proficient in database and development environments (Linux), and competent in MS Office Suite, Visio, MS Project.
  • Strong foresight, analysis, logical thinking, systematic planning, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with various development and database tools, techniques, and environments to develop and deliver quality applications and documentation. Total experience of 1-3 years, with at least 1 year of solid DBA experience.
  • Experience working in n-Tier, Client-Server, and Database environments, including open source/Linux development and production environments.
  • Excellent logical analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • High initiative and ability to work independently with responsibility.
