Airport Operations Manager

Responsible for overseeing customer handling areas at airports, ensuring a high standard of service and safe working procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all customer handling areas including check-in, departure gates, transit, and arrival. Ensure accurate and prompt completion of tasks by staff.
  • Assign pre-flight duties to staff and conduct debriefing sessions to discuss discrepancies.
  • Direct check-in staff in handling irregular passengers and documents.
  • Make decisions on excess baggage charges and guide check-in staff accordingly.
  • In case of denied boarding, provide assistance to passengers and update SSCI records.
  • Maintain good relationships with airport stakeholders, including customs, immigration, security, police, and other airline staff.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and local regulations, providing assistance to delayed passengers.
  • Monitor the performance of handling agents and ensure compliance with agreed standards.
  • Enforce safety and security protocols within the airport.
  • Manage lost/found/damaged baggage and maintain adequate stock levels of stationery.
  • Provide quality service to VIPs, unaccompanied children, and other special passengers.
  • Communicate with airport management to address equipment upgrades and other operational needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in airport operations.
  • Ordinary National Diploma or equivalent qualification.
