Senior News Manager Position

The ideal candidate for this senior news management role will have extensive experience in the field of journalism, with a strong background in leading teams and overseeing key news operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strategic plans to meet business objectives, while fostering an environment of collaboration and continuous improvement among team members.
  • Maintain high editorial standards by making informed decisions on story priority and assigning tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Nurture and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, government officials, and subject-matter experts to facilitate effective communication and gather valuable insights.
  • Collaborate closely with reporters, photographers, videographers, editors, producers, and other team members to assign and coordinate news coverage that aligns with the organization's goals.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working as a broadcast, print, or online journalist, preferably in a leadership capacity.
  • Excellent reporting, writing, editing, and news judgment skills, with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of current events.
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of significant public affairs issues and communicate complex information effectively through multiple channels.
  • High proficiency in using web, mobile, and social media platforms for publishing and editing purposes.
  • Strong on-air voicing skills and ability to conduct interviews with various individuals from different backgrounds.
  • Effective research skills and the ability to work under deadline pressures while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
