Director ORIC Job Description
Job Summary:This is a key leadership position responsible for enhancing the research activities of a university. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
The Director ORIC plays a critical role in developing research policies and priorities, mobilizing faculty, business community, and industry for research commercialization, and serving as an effective advocate for research with the university and its broader community of stakeholders and supporters.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop and implement a strategy to monetize royalty streams from licenses
- Manage the operational aspects of the ORIC, including overseeing the department budget and working with the Development Office to promote Institute IP success stories
- Collaborate with the Principal Liaison for Technical Marketing and Licensing on the commercialization of the Institute's IP
- Work closely with the Board of Advance Studies and Research, the Office of Sponsored Research, Business/Technology Incubators, and the University Science & Technology Park
To be successful in this role, you should have a PhD with expertise in research and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Strong ties with the local government, business/industry, entrepreneur, university, and social communities are essential.
