Job Overview:

The role of Physician Informaticist involves spearheading the integration of clinical information systems, ensuring seamless functionality and optimal performance. This position requires a unique blend of clinical expertise and technical acumen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and resolve system workflow issues.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance clinical information system adoption and utilization.
  • Provide expert guidance on clinical workflows and processes.
  • Train end-users on Electronic Health Record (EHR) usage.
  • Offer Go-Live support to clinicians, addressing any system-related concerns.
  • Contribute to methodology and content development in various clinical domains.
  • Participate in internal and client-driven focus groups to gather requirements and enhancement requests.
  • Support medical researchers in designing retrospective studies, including data generation, analysis, and publication.
  • Mentor new professionals, residents, or students in EHR implementation.
  • Enhance educational initiatives through EHR utilization.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Medicine (MBBS or MBChB or MD).
  • 1- 2 years of experience in Oncology.
  • Clinical rotations at AKU (preferred) during education.
  • Experience in inpatient, outpatient, and peri-operative settings.
  • Direct patient care responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of hospital/physician practice procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Understanding of clinical care pathways, order management, and physician documentation.
  • Effective collaboration with Physicians, Nurses, Residents, and Students.
  • Clinical training for inpatient and outpatient venues of care.
  • Participation in clinical research studies (preferred but not required).
  • Prior EHR experience (preferred but not required).
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving approach.
  • Confidentiality handling and team-oriented work environment.
  • Occasional travel for EHR Programme work and location-dependent requirements.
