Grants and Projects Specialist

The position of Grants and Projects Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the management team in maintaining and optimizing grants-related data processes and procedures.

This includes identifying national and international grant opportunities, developing proposals in collaboration with faculty members, managing communication with funding organizations, liaising with the Office of Research for compliance, and ensuring timely submission of grant applications.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Funding Opportunity Research: Regularly identify and seek out grants, consultancies, and sponsorships aligned with the organization's strategic vision.
  • Grant Database Management: Maintain a comprehensive database of national and international grant calls, ensuring timely updates and accurate records.
  • Proposal Development: Collaborate with faculty members to conceptualize project designs, draft proposals, identify project partners, develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and consolidate all grant application components.
  • Grant Cycle Management: Oversee the entire grant cycle, from application stage to award stage, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
  • Liaison with Office of Research: Coordinate with the Office of Research to gather necessary documentation and manage grant applications on relevant portals.
  • Programme Coordination: Facilitate the team in conducting programmes and activities, as well as developing liaison with internal and external stakeholders to explore grant partnership/consortium opportunities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Project Coordination: Proven ability to coordinate projects and implement plans effectively.
  • Analytical and Writing Skills: Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Time Management: Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Grant Writing and Budgeting: Basic understanding of grant writing and budgeting principles.
