About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to oversee the procurement and supply of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials for various projects. This involves identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating prices, and ensuring timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage long-term relationships with suppliers to secure high-quality IEC materials that meet project requirements.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and negotiate favorable prices through effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Coordinate logistics and transportation to ensure efficient delivery of materials, minimizing delays and costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including invoices and receipts, for transparency and accountability.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand their needs and deliver IEC materials accordingly, ensuring seamless project execution.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business administration, supply chain management, or marketing is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management, preferably in a similar role in a non-profit or humanitarian organization.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are required to work effectively with suppliers and project teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management software is necessary for record-keeping and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field can be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a donor-funded project environment and familiarity with compliance regulations can be beneficial.
