Job Opportunity: Public Affairs Specialist

This position plays a crucial role within the Corporate Affairs Division's Public & Government Affairs (PGA) team. The primary objective of the PGA team is to represent the organization's interests on policy matters impacting business, with various governmental organizations and ministries.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute stakeholder engagement strategies, ensuring seamless internal briefings and collaboration with the strategy and policy steering group.
  • Foster relationships with senior external stakeholders, providing clear insights into forthcoming legislative or government policy changes affecting business strategy and operations.
  • Advocate for a balanced taxation regime promoting sector growth.
  • Represent the company to ensure business continuity, effectively communicating the organization's stance on critical matters in front of concerned ministries, government departments, parliamentary committees, and other forums.
  • Promote timely and strategic engagement between company leadership and key government stakeholders.

The role reports directly to the VP of Public & Government Affairs.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's/master's degree with 7-10 years' relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in advocacy, campaign development, public engagement.
  • Strong connections with senior government officials and representatives.
  • Experience in advocating economic policies.

Key skills/knowledge areas include:

  • Exceptional project management, leadership, and communication skills required.
  • Proven track record in managing public affairs with hands-on experience in business strategy implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of policy development and delivery, including understanding of Telecommunication legislation, Regulatory frameworks, and Fiscal policy/rules.
