Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Translation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between individuals and businesses that speak different languages.

Your primary responsibility will be to accurately and effectively translate written or spoken content from Chinese to English and Urdu (or vice versa). This may include documents, emails, websites, marketing materials, legal texts, technical documents, and other forms of content.

You will have a thorough awareness of both Chinese and English cultures to ensure that cultural references and colloquial expressions are translated correctly. Your attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality translations will be essential in meeting client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Convert written or spoken content from Chinese to English and Urdu or English to Chinese, maintaining accuracy, clarity, and context.
  2. Have a thorough awareness of both Chinese and English cultures to guarantee that cultural references and colloquial expressions are translated correctly.
  3. Review and revise translations to ensure correctness, grammar, punctuation, and coherence.
  4. Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other team members to clarify project requirements, discuss potential challenges, and deliver high-quality translations.
  5. Efficiently manage multiple translation assignments, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  6. Provide language support for various tasks within the organization, such as interpreting during meetings or conferences, if required.
  7. Ensure the final translated content adheres to the organization's quality standards and meets client expectations.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Native or near-native fluency in both Chinese and English languages.
  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience as a professional translator, either freelance or within a translation agency, is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in translation software and other relevant tools is a plus.
  • Strong eye for detail, accuracy, and an ability to deliver high-quality translations.
