IT Infrastructure Specialist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled IT infrastructure specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in planning, installing, and maintaining wired and wireless network infrastructure.

This role involves ensuring stable internet connectivity, troubleshooting outages, and optimizing bandwidth usage. Additionally, the successful candidate will set up firewalls, VPNs, and routers with strong security configurations and conduct regular network audits to maintain uptime and performance.

The IT infrastructure specialist will also be responsible for managing IT asset inventory, preparing laptops and other IT equipment for new hires, and performing regular maintenance, repairs, and upgrades of hardware.

Furthermore, this role requires enforcing security best practices to protect company data, devices, and networks. The successful candidate will monitor systems for vulnerabilities, patch software regularly, and set up antivirus & encryption protocols.

In addition, the IT infrastructure specialist will serve as the first point of contact for internal IT-related issues, provide timely troubleshooting, and resolve software, hardware, and network issues across departments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, install, and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructure.

  • Conduct regular network audits and implement improvements to maintain uptime and performance.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in IT support, network administration, or infrastructure roles.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of network systems (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPNs), routers, switches, and firewalls. Proficiency with Windows and macOS systems, basic scripting, and common office applications.
  • Qualifications: Familiarity with IT compliance frameworks and security standards. Experience with tools like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, MDM, and cloud storage systems.
