About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in developing data-driven models based on available health data and disease characteristics.

You will be responsible for:

  • Validating and refining models using historical data and epidemiological patterns.
  • Customizing models for specific diseases, conditions, situations, and populations.
  • Performing simulation runs to model disease spread under various conditions.

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data modeling to drive meaningful insights and improvements in public health.

Key Responsibilities

You will have the following responsibilities:

  • Developing and applying statistical techniques to identify patterns, trends, and risk factors.
  • Conducting hypothesis testing to assess associations.
  • Disseminating findings through publications, reports, and presentations.
  • Supervising and mentoring team members in disease modelling and surveillance.
  • Conducting workshops on disease modelling techniques and data analysis.

In this role, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation and excellence in public health research.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in data science, computer science, statistics, or a related field.
  • At least three years of progressive experience in leading and managing data science projects.
  • Proven track record of mentoring and training researchers, faculty, and staff in data science methodologies and techniques.
  • Strong expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL, along with proficiency in data manipulation and visualization libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, and Seaborn).

You should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences and stakeholders.
