Skillful Trade Associate Needed

The Revenue Mobilisation, Investment and Trade (REMIT) programme provides technical assistance to Pakistan with a broader objective of implementing reforms for strengthening macroeconomic stability and improving conditions for growth.

The Senior Trade Associate will assist in monitoring, evaluation, and implementation of the National Tariff Policy 2025-30.

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of export growth and identify products for export diversification.
  • Identify industrial units that may be affected by tariff reforms and create strategies to help them adapt.
  • Guide and supervise the implementation of the National Tariff Policy to ensure its objectives are met.
  • Monitor macro-economic indicators related to tariffs.
  • Build a strong narrative for mass awareness and target potential foreign investors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sectoral tariff rationalization studies on iron and steel, textile, paper and paperboard, chemicals, and plastics sectors.
  • Develop strategies to enhance exports and improve competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with government institutions and departments to implement revenue mobilisation reforms.
  • Support the development of trade policies and laws.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in economics or Business Administration from a reputable university. At least 15 years' experience working in tariff and trade-related subjects.

Required Skills:

Excellent communication and computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and statistical tools like SPSS and Stata.
