Our organization is seeking a Depot Container Manager to oversee the efficient handling and storage of empty containers. The successful candidate will lead and manage all aspects of depot operations, ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards while maintaining high service levels for shipping lines, transporters, and internal stakeholders.This role requires a proactive leader with a strong understanding of logistics, container management systems, and depot infrastructure. The manager will be expected to drive continuous improvement, maintain safety and environmental standards, and ensure optimal utilization of depot space and resources.The key responsibilities of this position include:  Operations Management:    Oversee daily operations of the container yard, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of empty containers    Coordinate with shipping lines, transport companies, and other stakeholders to manage container movements    Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for container handling and storage  Team Management:    Lead and supervise a team of repair technicians    Provide training and development opportunities for staff    Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback    Manage and supervise yard staff, including operators and administrative personnel    Ensure staff are trained and adhere to safety and operational guidelines  Inventory Control:    Maintain accurate records of container inventory    Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure inventory accuracy and container condition  Safety and Compliance:    Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards    Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety drills and training sessions  Maintenance and Repair Operations:    Oversee the inspection, maintenance, and repair of containers    Ensure all repairs meet industry standards and safety regulations    Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures    Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of repairs    Address any issues or discrepancies in repair workRequirements:  Education:    Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, business administration, or engineering    Certifications in logistics or operations management (e.g., CSCP, Lean Six Sigma) are a plus  Experience:    2 years in a management role would be preferred    Hands-on experience with container handling, depot management systems, and coordination with shipping lines, authorities, local bodies  Skills:    Strong leadership and team management    Proficiency in depot software and MS Office    Knowledge of container inspection, repair standards, and safety protocols    Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination
