The role of a Customs Manager is multifaceted and demands strong organizational skills as well as attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage customs and trade compliance across the organization, ensuring strict adherence to global regulations.
  2. Determine customs classifications and regulatory requirements, including licenses and certificates.
  3. Ensure exceptionally high levels of compliance for customs and government agency requirements among all staff and teams.
  4. Oversee entry auditing and reporting results and recommendations for improvement.
  5. Educate the team on company controls, policies, procedures, processes, and applications.
  6. Complete thorough internal audits and implement actions as per client requirements.
  7. Stay up-to-date with changing trade compliance policies through ongoing training and attending seminars and conferences.
  8. Perform diligent due diligence checks on new customers when required.
  9. Verify customer authorizations are valid and updated.
  10. Manage the organization's interface with customs authorities.
  11. Assist in implementing and controlling new legislations issued by HMRC.
  12. Support customers with their AEO/Applications.
Job Specifications:
  • Deep understanding of International Trade, Compliance, and Customs regulations.
  • Knowledge of BIS/ECO/EAR/ITAR regulations.
  • Experience in developing business policies and process governance within an international business environment.
  • Previous experience working alongside international government agencies.
  • Excellent knowledge of export and import controls is essential for this role.
  • AEO application experience would be beneficial for this role.
