Product Sales Coordinator

Effective product sales coordinators play a pivotal role in driving business success by ensuring optimal product availability, pricing and display.

This role works closely with the buying team to forecast trends, plan inventory levels and monitor performance. The sales coordinator sets prices to achieve maximum profits and manages product range performance, planning promotions and markdowns as necessary.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning product ranges and preparing sales and inventory plans in conjunction with buyers.
  • Liaising with buyers, analysts, stores, suppliers and distributors.
  • Maintaining accurate records and data on sales and inventory performance.
  • Working with visual display staff and department heads to decide how goods should be displayed to appeal to customers.
  • Forecasting profits and sales, and optimising the sales volume and profitability of designated product areas.
  • Preparing budgets and presenting sales forecasts and figures for new ranges.
  • Monitoring stock levels based on seasonal forecasts.
  • Analysing bestsellers to ensure they reach their full potential.
  • Identifying slow sellers and taking action to reduce prices or promote them.
  • Gathering customer feedback on products.
  • Reporting on previous season's sales and current season's lines.
  • Providing financial updates to senior managers.
  • Collaborating with suppliers and managing the distribution of inventory.
  • Managing production and supply chain issues.
  • Leading and training junior staff members.
