The role of Corrosion Protection Engineer involves providing assistance in Corrosion Control activities on the pipeline network. This position is also responsible for maintaining Corrosion Control systems to ensure the integrity of the pipeline network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with government departments/agencies to obtain necessary permissions for carrying out Corrosion Control jobs.
  • Rectify and maintain installed Corrosion Control stations according to specified standards.
  • Perform coating and wrapping of pipelines to achieve optimum Corrosion Control operations.
  • Participate in field tests, including Pipeline Current Mapping (PCM), Close Interval Potential Survey (CIPS), structure potential, Direct Current Voltage Gradient (DCVG), soil resistivity, etc.
  • Plan recoating and rectification of pipelines based on test and survey results.
  • Assist in survey, design, and data collection.
  • Present findings to management through charts and tables.
  • Create Corrosion designs, including anode type, quantity, location, rectifier location, test station locations, and other design features on drawings.
  • Install sacrificial anode systems for pipeline protection against corrosion and conduct post-installation surveys.
  • Implement policies and procedures regarding corrosion control of assets and undertake required corrosion control work for pipelines and systems.
  • Prepare survey reports and findings to highlight coating-related deterioration.
  • Revalidate pipeline integrity assessments and identify vulnerable sections.
  • Plan and coordinate Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) and Fitness for Service (FFS) assessments and propose replacement plans for pressure equipment and pipelines.
  • Promptly initiate procurement of necessary materials and equipment.
  • Monitor and check the coating status of under-construction and new pipeline projects.
  • Ensure compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and company policies and ethics.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
