Job Overview

The role of IT Systems Administrator revolves around managing and maintaining clients' IT services, network installations, and providing technical guidance to ensure the implementation of industry best practices.

This position involves supporting clients in the maintenance and upkeep of existing IT infrastructure, applications, and equipment, working collaboratively within a team with a strong customer focus and sense of ownership.

  • Maintaining and monitoring server and network infrastructure during standard business hours is essential.
  • Developing and collaborating on technical documentation and knowledge databases are crucial tasks.
  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors and managed service partners is necessary for delivering highly available services.
  • Managing incidents, service requests, and following change management processes are key responsibilities.
  • Continuously monitoring key systems to minimize system downtime and making recommendations for improvements, optimizations, and efficiencies are important aspects.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess:

  • Good cloud technology experience in platforms such as Azure and O365.
  • Strong Windows Server knowledge and Linux expertise.
  • Windows Server Administrator certification.
  • Knowledge of standard infrastructure technologies, including virtualization, backup, storage, Active Directory, monitoring, and certification authorities.
  • Familiarity with standard networking concepts, including layer 3 routing protocols, IPSec/SSL VPN, network load balancing, and basic troubleshooting commands.
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs.
  • Experience in VoIP.

In addition, the candidate should have:

  • At least 3 years of experience in application and server infrastructure administration.
  • Hypervisors and virtualization technologies.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
  • Cloud platforms such as Azure.

Proficiency in technologies including Cisco and various cloud platforms is desired.
