Senior Data Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our team. This is a full-time position with a project-based employment type.

This role involves developing advanced portfolio analytical tools to support investment decision-making and monitoring. You will be responsible for automating the integration of Bloomberg AIM trades into the investment management dashboard using Python or SQL. Additionally, you will design and implement data extraction, transformation, visualization, and loading (ETL) processes for investment management data into SQL or an agreed data repository.

You will also create robust and scalable queries and scripts in Python or SQL to replicate and enhance trade detail updates and generate analytical reports. Furthermore, you will migrate existing reports and data sources currently used in the investment management dashboard to Bloomberg, or alternative centralized databases.

The successful candidate will have experience working on similar projects and will have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. They will also have hands-on experience with Bloomberg systems, particularly proficiency in Bloomberg Query Language (BQL).

In addition to technical skills, we are looking for someone who can contribute to additional investment portfolio analysis tasks, particularly those focused on process automation, data integrity, and efficient data management.

1. Develop advanced portfolio analytical tools to support investment decision-making and monitoring.
2. Automate the integration of Bloomberg AIM trades into the investment management dashboard using Python or SQL.
3. Design and implement data extraction, transformation, visualization, and loading (ETL) processes for investment management data into SQL or an agreed data repository.
4. Create robust and scalable queries and scripts in Python or SQL to replicate and enhance trade detail updates and generate analytical reports.
5. Migrate existing reports and data sources currently used in the investment management dashboard to Bloomberg, or alternative centralized databases.
6. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and prepare comprehensive workflow and process documentation for management system modules used by the investment management team.
7. Produce templates and research outputs for periodic performance reporting and analytics.
8. Develop detailed user manuals for all developed tools and reports, and conduct training sessions for end-users.
9. Contribute to additional investment portfolio analysis tasks, particularly those focused on process automation, data integrity, and efficient data management.
10. Deploy all developed code following DevOps standards and practices.
11. Support ICT and TRE teams during unit testing and user acceptance testing (UAT).

1. 8+ years of professional work experience.
2. Proven expertise in Python for data manipulation, automation, and analytics.
3. Strong knowledge of SQL for database querying, data structuring, and performance tuning.
4. Hands-on experience with Bloomberg systems, particularly proficiency in Bloomberg Query Language (BQL).
5. Demonstrated ability to design end-to-end data solutions, including extraction, transformation, and visualization.
6. Experience in preparing clear and detailed technical documentation and user training materials.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
8. Understanding of automation practices throughout the development, build, and deployment phases of the application life-cycle.
9. Experience with development using Github, Bitbucket or Gitlab.
10. Contributing to Open Source projects is a plus.
