Job Title: Software Engineering Director

This is a leadership role for an experienced software engineering director who can drive business impact and guide product teams to deploy infrastructure optimally as part of their modernization journey.

The ideal candidate will have experience in public cloud migrations of complex systems, anticipating problems, and finding ways to mitigate risk. They will lead numerous public cloud initiatives from ideation to production by collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Main Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive enhanced customer experiences.
  • Guide various product teams on the standards and best practices related to the Public Cloud process and help them mitigate issues in production cloud with minimal downtime.
  • Lead a team to develop, enhance, and maintain established standards and best practices, drive self-service, and deliver on a strategy to operate on a broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services.
  • Own end-to-end platform issues, problem management and provide solutions to platform production issues on the AWS Cloud and ensure the applications are available as expected.
  • Identify opportunities to improve resiliency, availability, security, and high-performing platforms in Public Cloud using industry best practices.
Key Qualifications
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
  • Strong understanding of business technology drivers and their impact on architecture design, performance and monitoring, best practices.
  • Dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, who can adapt verbiage and style to the audience and deliver critical information clearly.
  • Strong analytical thinker, with business acumen and the ability to assimilate information quickly, focusing on incident and problem management.
