Cloud Architect Role

The role of Azure Technical Architect is to design, guide and ensure the delivery of robust, secure and scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.

This architect bridges the gap between strategic cloud initiatives and hands-on technical execution, providing expert leadership across architecture design, development practices, cloud governance and deployment automation.

Working closely with architects, engineers and business stakeholders, the Azure Technical Architect ensures that solutions are aligned with enterprise standards, best practices and business goals—delivering high-performance cloud environments that support innovation, agility, security and long-term sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Provide expert leadership in architecture design, development practices, cloud governance and deployment automation.
  • Ensure solutions are secure, scalable and reliable.
  • Mentor engineers and developers to adopt best practices for cloud-native development.
  • Stay up-to-date with Microsoft Azure's roadmap and recommend new services or features that could enhance architecture or performance.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
  • 10+ years in IT with at least 3–5 years of experience designing solutions on Microsoft Azure.
  • Deep expertise in core Azure services: Azure App Services, Functions, API Management, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure Storage, ACA, Front Door, WAF, Logic Apps, Log Analytics, Key Vault and Azure Active Directory.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools: ARM, Bicep, Terraform.
  • Solid grasp of CI/CD and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, identity & access management, and networking (VNETs, NSGs, ExpressRoute).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework.
