Blood Bank Operations Manager

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is a dynamic academic centre serving the diagnostic needs of the country through its clinical laboratory services. Our Clinical Laboratory is College of American Pathologists (CAP) accredited, providing comprehensive testing capabilities across various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure day-to-day smooth operations of assigned sections, adhering to laboratory policies and protocols.
- Implement compliance with laboratory protocol and policy guidelines.
- Manage staffing matters, including attendance, discipline, and counselling, to ensure regular implementation of laboratory and institutional policies.
- Effectively communicate critical results in a timely manner and document according to protocol.
- Perform routine and STAT clinical laboratory tests or technical procedures, finalizing reports according to laboratory protocols and authorizing reports when required.
- Create duty rota and authorize staff overtime.
- Maintain compliance with CAP & JCIA standards.
- BS/BSC in Biological Science (4-year program), Master's degree preferred.
- Three years of experience as a Senior Technologist or ten years of relevant experience gained at a hospital.
- Thorough knowledge of laboratory testing procedures.
- Knowledge of latest developments in Medical Technology.
- Good knowledge of employee relations techniques.
