Strategic Procurement Lead

Job Overview:

The role of Procurement Manager requires a strong leader who can establish and nurture value-focused relationships with third parties. The successful candidate will partner with local site teams to drive and support procurement delivery across all dimensions.

At a strategic level, the Procurement Manager leads the alignment with site leadership teams, ensuring that site business needs and priorities are well understood and supported by global category procurement teams. They contribute directly or indirectly to the strategic management of key suppliers.

From a more tactical perspective, the role involves operational management of activities, implementation of sourcing strategies, and other global projects. It also ensures that daily needs and transactional activities are executed in accordance with GSK's policies and SOPs. Relevant and effective communication is provided to the local procurement team and stakeholder community.

1. Develop and propose long and short-term plans to improve procurement processes and enhance overall site performance. Provide leadership in implementing new processes.
2. Implement global procurement processes, policies, guidelines, and strategies locally, ensuring compliance.
3. Manage interfaces between procurement and site, balancing expectations of both procurement and site stakeholders. Understand different perspectives and satisfy needs and expectations of all stakeholders within procurement and site.
4. Ensure site requirements are considered within definition and implementation of global category strategies. Develop and robustly implement procurement strategies for local categories of spend that clearly meet business requirements.

1. Accountable for indirect and CAPEX procurement across 3 manufacturing sites, matrix managing indirect buyers at sites.
2. Develop and manage site supply base to meet GSK's requirements: assurance of supply, quality, regulatory, service, cost, and innovation to control costs in a fast-moving environment. Adapt and respond to regularly changing business requirements.
3. Manage development of long-term vision for all local purchasing categories to support growth of GSK. Ensure approval of this long-term vision by local key stakeholders.
4. For specific categories, actively negotiate contracts.
5. Reduce manufacturing in-directs and Capex costs of site. Support reduction of end-to-end total costs of site.
6. Influence OPEX for site through development and robust implementation of best procurement practices.
7. Balancing both strategic and operational requirements. Any interruption of supply results in an immediate and extended impact on GSK revenue stream.
8. Co-ordinate support from multiple category teams, working within a matrix organization. Manage relationships with other procurement staff remotely.

1. Secure supply chain through integrating risk management approach as foundation of procurement mission. Evaluate and mitigate risk associated with long-standing local suppliers and single sourcing.
