Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Taxation Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of taxation laws and regulations, as well as excellent analytical and communication skills.

The role will involve supporting the company's tax compliance and reporting activities, including preparing and filing monthly sales tax returns, reconciling sales tax general ledger with filed returns, and ensuring proper application of sales tax on invoices based on applicable rates and exemptions.

In addition, the Taxation Specialist will assist in computation and payment of monthly withholding taxes, prepare and file monthly withholding statements, and support annual corporate tax return preparation.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring changes in tax laws and notifying senior management of their potential impact, managing compliance risks related to tax disputes, audits, and litigation, and providing tax data and reports to finance and legal teams for reporting and provisioning.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or commerce; part-qualified CA/ACCA/ICMA/CIMA preferred
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in taxation (preferably in telecom, infrastructure, or large-scale organizations)
  • Working knowledge of Pakistan's income tax and sales tax laws
  • Familiarity with Withholding Tax (WHT) provisions, STR, and FED regimes
  • Experience in preparing returns using IRIS and eFBR portals
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle preferred) and MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
