Job Summary

The role of a Banking Operations Specialist involves ensuring the smooth execution of all banking activities, including customer transactions, in accordance with bank policies and procedures.

  • Process customer requests for account-related services such as stop payments, updating customer details, and removal of dormancy.
  • Record denominations for cash transactions and request additional cash when required.
  • Balance, sort, and reconcile currency notes before placing them in the vault at the end of each day.
  • Safe-keep and balance outstanding cheque books and captured ATM cards, ensuring delivery and destruction according to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with various teams to ensure business-as-usual operations, floor management, and service quality.
  • Recover applicable service charges on instruments and banking facilities according to standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that all relevant GL accounts are reconciled and balanced with actual records at all times.
  • Comply with bank policies, SOPs, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring timely completion of tasks related to banking operations.
  • Managing cash handling and reconciliation processes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reports.
  • Coordinating with internal teams to achieve operational efficiency.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing changes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum education: Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce.
  • Relevant experience: 1+ year in banking operations or a related field.
  • Skills: numerical and financial analysis, understanding of financial services, banking products, and operations, knowledge of AML/KYC, proficiency in MS Word and Excel, communication, conflict management, and customer service skills.
