Job Title: Maize Purchase Professional

This role is responsible for procuring high-quality raw materials for our organization at competitive prices. You will be required to supervise the purchase activities of maize buying agents within and outside the market.

">Key Responsibilities:">
  • Monitor competitors' activities in grain markets and report to your supervisor.
  • Verify that daily maize purchase prices used by commission agents are within authorized limits of the company.
  • Check and supervise filling, sewing, and weight of purchased maize by commission agents.
  • Continuously monitor weighments to achieve cost savings goals.
  • Communicate daily with your supervisor and other relevant stakeholders about market dynamics and logistical situations that may impact corn costs.
  • Facilitate smooth dispatch of maize purchased by agents on approved freight rates.
  • Supervise timely disbursement of payments sent by the company to vendors/parts from whom maize is purchased.
  • Enter real-time rates into grain markets through a mobile phone device.
  • Conduct crop surveys of spring and autumn seasons for strategic buying planning.
  • Supervise maize buying agents' activities.
  • Share market intelligence with your supervisor on a regular basis.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Interact with and execute orders under the direction of your supervisor.
  • Conduct audits of maize buying agents at the end of each season.
  • Participate in learning events for personal growth.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS guidelines and promote a safety culture in grain markets.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years' experience in a relevant field.
  • Graduation degree.
">Desirable Skills and Qualifications:">
  • Thorough knowledge of grain markets in maize-producing areas.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in computer software, including MS Office.
  • Fluent in Urdu and English languages.
