Financial Manager Role

As a seasoned financial professional, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the smart schools project. Your expertise will ensure accurate financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. You will work closely with senior leadership to manage the financial health of the department, support fundraising efforts, and provide key financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the financial planning and budgeting process for the smart schools initiative.
  • Oversee accounting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure all financial activities are compliant with local laws, donor requirements, and accounting standards.
  • Provide financial reports to internal stakeholders, donors, and partners, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Fundraising team to track grant funds, prepare financial reports for donors, and manage financial aspects of fundraising campaigns.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast and plan for the organization's financial future.
  • Assist in the annual audit process and ensure financial records are maintained according to best practices.
  • Monitor project expenditures, flag any variances, and work with the operations team to maintain budget discipline.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to inform strategic decision-making.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the education, non-profit, or social impact sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and financial reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing donor funds and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Experience working with external auditors and managing the audit process.
